Hello,
I'm having issues with ordinate dimensions on a DXF file that is not scale 1:1.
Running on Windows 10
Qcad/Cam Pro V 3.27.1.0
Here is my scenario;
Step 1; Import CAD file "ScaleTest1142022.DXF" which is scaled at 1:2 from the previous software (Solidworks).
Step 2; Clean up file, scale up to 1:1 and move to XY zero.
Step 3; Add horizontal or vertical dimensions, they are correct. If I do ordinate dimensions, they are double of what they should be.
Outside of block is 1.0" x 6.0", but ordinates come up as 2.0" x 12.0"
When adding ordinate dimensions, there is a scale dropdown option, changing this seems to have no effect on anything.
Going into drawing preferences, Dimension settings, the size scale factor is 1.
What am I missing?
Thank you kindly.

Re: Ordinate dimensions on a scaled DXF File
Hi,
following your instructions I can reproduce this.
Only for new ordinates we get a Linear measurement factor of 2.
It seems that the value is retained somehow.
One can also simply re-use the dimensions that are already defined in the given file.
After scaling up x2 these are indeed double the value.
No need to delete them.
Select all the original Dimensions and set the Linear measurement factor to 1 in the Property Editor
BTW: One can set the origin for Ordinates from the Option Toolbar, no need to shift the drawing.
Regards,
CVH

Re: Ordinate dimensions on a scaled DXF File
Hello Daniel,
two ideas - you may try this on the scale test drawing.
1.
select in ScaleTest1142022.DXF all dimension with the Selection Filter,
launch "Remove Style Overwrites" (DX),
Check existing and new dimensioning.
2.
load in QCAD ScaleTest1142022.DXF,
create a new empty drawing, change the units to inch, imperial,
select everything in ScaleTest1142022.DXF, copy with reference (0,0) into the clipboard, switch to the empty drawing, paste clipboard content to absolute 0,0.
Check existing and new dimensioning.
Keep us posted.

Re: Ordinate dimensions on a scaled DXF File
Hello CVH,
you found that fast. Yes, the "linear measurement factor" is being set to 2 for ordinate dimensions. I can select all dims and change this to 1 in the property editor. This works.
Yes, I love the new origin feature for ordinate dimensions. That way I can have a zero corner on all of the different part views. Makes it really clean.
Hello Husky,
The "Remove style overwrites" did not make any changes to existing or new dimensions. However, if I made the previous change "linear measurement factor" from 2 to 1, then the "remove style overwrites" would revert this back to 2 again.
Your second idea worked also. all dims existing and new on a new DXF file are at a linear measurement factor of 1.
Anyway to force "LMF" to 1 always?
Thanks for the help guys!

Ok,
I added this to the bug tracker. Pretty neat, we'll see what happens.
Thank you.

Should be solved for the next snapshot/release.
