[solved] I messed up QCAD

Post by DaveRS » Mon Oct 18, 2021 1:18 pm

Hello

I know this may not be a QCAD problem, but any help would be very welcome.

QCAD appears to be partially in Apples "Nightshift" mote, see attached.

I suspect I have deleted some files relevant to QCAD and maybe other applications.

Any help would be most welcome.

Tried a different version of QCAD, exactly the same.

Repaired MacOS, exactly the same.

If someone give me an answer which fixes this mess, I will tell you why I ended up in this situation.

I really want to get QCAD working properly.

Thanks

Dave

Hi

Exactly what I thought.

Sorry should have said I already tried that.

Don't really fancy doing a clean install on this machine, but if I have to I will.

Noth seen any other applications exhibiting this same effect.

Regards

Hello again.

Just copied the DWG file to my wife's MacBook and copied the QCAD app to the applications folder and QCAD looks the same.

I am at a loss

Please indicate your exact version of QCAD or the file name of the downloaded file.

Is your macOS in dark mode?

Thanks. Presumably, that means that System Preferences > General > Appearance is set to Light, correct? There are unfortunately different ways to control this behaviour.

Also, what exact version of macOS are you using?

Hi

Thank you.

Thought I was going mad.

I have a medical appointment shortly, when I return I will tell you each MacOS version I tried this on.

Best regards

Hello again.

Both my iMac Pro and MacBook are now working correctly, please see attached.

I had set the "Nightshift" options in "Display" thinking that was the only place to set it.

I cannot thank you enough. In March of this year I had a cardiac arrest resulting in three months in hospital, I have a slight brain injury, but at least I lived.

QCAD will help me get back to normal. I work in IT, but at the moment I do not know when I will return to work. QCAD will keep me sane.

Best regards

Dave

Good to hear it is working now, thanks for letting us know.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I'm glad QCAD can offer a little distraction in this difficult time.

All the best,
Andrew
