Rounding Polylines

Post by CVH » Tue May 25, 2021 7:09 am

All, Andrew,
Replying here: https://qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=8455
I in fact replied myself on an old feature request that I had.
Just couldn't make it functional before with a 'new RAddObjectsOperation()' (Leaving out the details  )
It is rather a monkey task to use RN, edge by edge, on a polyline with numerous segments.
(What sometimes fails)

Can/may we exploit this further?
It already works out for geometrically closed forms that are logically open.
Thinking out loud ....
... On all selected polylines
... When the minimum distance between all vertices (segment length or chord length) is somewhat over 2 times the radius.
... Reporting flaws with the polyline like distance=zero ... Z=non-zero ... Or auto adapt
... Removing the old entity/-ies afterwards, off course

Or is there a catch 22?

Regards,
CVH

It does not work reliably with arc segments.
