[solved] Split screen

Post by Harry Whitelaw » Sat Oct 03, 2020 3:34 pm

My qcad screen has split into 4 screens and has slowed down markedly. How can I get back to one screen?

Go to menu Edit->Drawing Preferences.
Select Viewports.
Select the layout you want.

Hi Riverbuoy,
Many thanks. I am now down to one screen which is great. Problem now is that everything is very slow. When I roll the mouse wheel the changes in the view are very 'jerky' and slow. I know very little but it seems to me as if the CPU is busy with something that prevents it from giving me it's full attention. I have tried various things to change this but so far have been unsuccessful
I have left the subject as 'split screen' but that is no longer a problem.
Thanks again,
Harry

It all depends what the source is.
It can be the size, the content, both or something very specific.

We would not know without an example file.
Husky summerized some collected advices here:
viewtopic.php?f=33&t=7579&p=29514#p29514

You could try to match your problem with one off these:
search.php?keywords=lag
search.php?keywords=slow
