You misunderstood (it's in German) and you took it completely out of context.

The user suggested that QCAD should be developed into something like a full blown AutoCAD clone that would eventually come at a much higher price tag. I replied that this is NOT the goal and QCAD is deliberately kept simple and affordable. People looking for an Autocad clone should look somewhere else.

Not really planned. If you expect an AutoCAD clone, QCAD is unfortunately not the right product for you. QCAD is deliberately kept simpler and slimmer. In my opinion, there are already more than enough AutoCAD clones

Yes, exactly. In your opinion, if QCAD was "finished", the whole goal of QCAD (to make a simple, affordable CAD for "everybody") would be missed.

Hi all

Fully agree, people like myself who have used other cad suites in a professional capacity like the more simplistic approach of Qcad to produce 2D drawings that meet our needs for our more leisurely use. Autocad and Solidworks would be like cracking a nut with a sledge hammer.
