Nesting Issues

Post by Wkiamin » Mon May 04, 2020 5:51 am

Im having the following issues when nesting

1) Holes are not nested together with the part

2) Lines are being nested separately even when it comes from the same part

3) Is it possible for the nesting to fill up the first sheet of the material before using the second sheet?

4) Sometimes, overlapping occurs when I use 8 rotation.

Im wondering if there are any solutions to the issues above?

Most likely that part hasn't a closed contour. If so, please close the contour and try again.

If the nesting still fails please attache the dxf/dwg drawing and indicate Operating system and QCAD version.

Just like our Forum rules are asking for ...

Hi,
I'm looking to do nesting, but without rotating parts.
There is the rotation option but I can't set 0 for no rotation.

If you set the rotation to 4 then it means that each part can be rotated 0 degrees, 90 degrees, 180 degrees or 270 degrees,

Set it to 1 and there will not be a rotation ...

I've already tried it with one, but it's still giving me rotations.

It works flawless with my QCAD/CAM version ....

If possible please attache the drawing for further investigation. Thanks.

Maybe Andrew has more info on that behavior ...

Please make sure that aligning to the longest side is disabled:
Edit > Application Preferences > CAM > Nesting > Align part angles to axis

If the problem persists, please indicate your QCAD/CAM version and platform.

It's working fine, thank you very much.

What is the difference between a value a 1 or a 20 of the "Hul resolution for blocks" option?
