Future development of QCAD

Post by TSG » Thu Jan 24, 2019 8:54 am

Hi Andrew

since the last update of QCAD a couple of month are gone and I'm a little bit concerned about the future development of QCAD.
Is there any roadmap or are there any plans how it will go on?

Thanks in advande for your reply

You can see upcoming features at to top of the changelog:
https://qcad.org/en/documentation/changelog

No need to be worried. We're doing fewer stable releases and more frequent snapshot releases instead. This way people who want to get the latest and greatest can do so and people who just need a working solution don't need to bother with frequent updates. The latest snapshot release (3.21.3.14) contains all the features mentioned for the next version in the changelog.

By the way: since you seem to be getting concerned easily , you might want to check out the git repository of QCAD once in a while to check its life beat:
https://github.com/qcad/qcad/commits/master

This is only the free QCAD Community Edition part, but still gives you a pretty good idea if something is happening...
