New empty file

Post by Forestal » Thu Aug 27, 2020 8:42 pm

Dear all,

I'm quite new using QCAD, and yesterday I realize a drawing. Today I tried to open it but I found nothing inside (see attached).
It's quite a pity because I spent some hours on this drawing.
Could you help me by explaining me how to open this file (if this still possible) or by avoiding to make the same mistake in the near future?

Thank you very much to the QCAD community.

Hi,

I don't know what should be in the drawing but it is next to empty. There are two blocks - door_70 and north - that's it.

Frequently saving the work is crucial on a computer. Better once too much than once too little ...
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

37k. There are just as many lines entries in the dxf as there are in the two blocks.

And the last thing you did the other day is overwriting it with an empty file.
Then the 'save' itself ruind it.
Be aware of hitting the OK buton too negligent.

Saving is one, multiple copies and a good backup scheme is crucial.

Thank you very much for your support. I will pay more attention not to save an empty drawing next time.
