Importing DXF from fusion 360 offsets some parts

Post by andya » Sat May 30, 2020 12:07 pm

Hi, I'm mew to QCAD and currently evaluating it as the interim step in my plasma cutting toolchain.

I design most of my work in Fusion360 for other reasons which I won't go into. I'm seeing some off behaviour when I export a Fusion 360 flat pattern to DXF and then import into QCAD.

The 'interior' layer is offset vs the outer.

I'm attaching a sample file; on my machine the holes are offset to the left of the outer, whereas they should be within it.

Could someone tell me if this is consistent with them or if there is a fix (including editing the DXF to correct the fusion export)

Thanks

Andy

These circles use a non-standard (negative) normal axis (0,0,-1).

This is not supported in the QCAD Community Edition (dxflib) but can be imported fine in QCAD Professional (which is using the OpenDesign Libraries for DXF/DWG import/export).

Many thanks; another reason to upgrade :)
