Automatically clears the file after rotating any block.

Post by dima81 » Mon Mar 02, 2020 4:15 pm

Attention!!! This bug killed two of my projects!!! Be careful!!!

If you create a block and rotate it, qcad crashes, and the file itself is cleared of all drawn objects.

Steps to repeat.
1) To draw something.
2) Create an object from multiple objects.
3) Select an object and rotate it to any angle.

OS: Arch Linux x86_64
Kernel: 5.4.22-1-lts
QCAD version 3.24.2.6
Qt Version: 5.14.1
Release Date: Feb 13 2020

First: Note that you're using a snapshot release (3.24.2.6). Snapshot releases are not intended for production use.

A crash will never "clear" a file. If QCAD crashes, it leaves your files untouched. It might even have an autosave file to recover the last automatic backup. Naturally, you will also have your own backups to reply upon.

I confirm that the bug is only in snapshot release (3.24.2.6), installed from the official repository archlinux.
I downloaded version 3.24.2.0 from the site, there are no errors. But the backup file is still not created. I couldn't find this option in the settings.
Where can I enable creating a backup file in the settings?

That would be the Communtiy Edition. I'll move the topic to the appropriate forum.
