red crosshair point - meaning/moving

I'm wondering about the meaning of the red crosshair poit which is located in my drawing a some arbitrary location of which I don't know where it come from. Maybe the most recent construction point? Could anyone explain. Thank you.

That is the "Relative zero" point and is automatically produced by QCAD. It can be used for e.g. coordinate input like "start line from relative zero with a distance of x/y to this point. Regardless that it is automatically set by QCAD you can move it to what ever point is more suitable for you. Have a look at your options within the Snap tool menu.
