Hi Usbcnc folks.
I draw in qcad Version: 3.27.1.0 (3.27.1), a closed shape (.dxf) with an elipse in it. I break the elipse
to drop the bomb on it.
Then I retrieve the shape in the 'program' tab of usbcnc and give the
values with which the cutter is allowed to do its work. (milling machine)
Everything is going well until .cnc is written. Usbcnc switches itself to the 'operate' tab and
after a lot of thought comes the message ' Loading job failed.
Then I replace the ellipse shapes for arcs and I try again.
The result of this is exactly the same, very long thinking and finally an error message without loading the form.
again 'Loading job failed'.
To test I replace the elipse for an arc with 1 fixed radius and then there are no problems, The .cnc program loads
good and the cutter then just works.
In other words, the problem is probably in the arcs with different radii.
My question:
I would like to mill ellipses, does anyone have any tips on how to make this.
usbcnc 4.02/82
Windows10
Thanks, Emiel

Re: The ellipse milled
Hi,
Why I have the feeling that wasn't the real question here ...
Assumingly not many Usbcns folks here - this is the QCAD/CAM forum.
Well, draw the ellipses in QCAD/CAM, create the tool paths, create the g-code, send it to your controller, let the CNC do what it is built for. Done!Emiel Bosch wrote: ↑Thu Sep 08, 2022 10:45 pmMy question:

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Re: The ellipse milled
Hi,
And not the Planet CNC because before they both were called 'usbcnc'.
A: Most controller software doesn't support ellipses or splines.
B: EdingCNC Program TAB ... EasyCAM ... is a bit picky on Polylines.
It is best that you explode your ellipse to arc's by using XP twice.
Settings for the Explode tool are in the App.Prefs. under Modify.
For other details about Polys please send me a PM.
