Lead in / out required?

Post by andrew » Sat Apr 13, 2019 10:56 am

From a QCAD/CAM user:
I'm getting a warning when trying to create an offset toolpath without lead in / out.

Postprocessors which use G41/G42/G40 for tool radius compensation require a lead in / lead out. This is an additional movement at the start and end of the contour during which the G41/G42 or G40 is programmed. The radius compensation is gradually switched on or off during this move.

Offset contours may be created without lead in / out for post processors which do not use G41/G42/G40 codes. In this case, QCAD/CAM computes the offset paths right from the first entity of the contour till the last one.
