Just thought I would share a project I have completed using QCAD / CAM, basically it's for foam inserts to hold electronic components. The inserts then fit into aluminum flight cases.

I work in mm so:
cutter - straight 4 fluted 12.7mm dia.
spindle speed -16000 rpm
feed rate - 1000
plunge rate 500
This was milled from polyether polyurethane packing foam. It milled out reasonably well considering this was profile cut and not pocketed, I think when Andrew adds support for pocketing it will up the game big time

Normally I work with wood and often acrylic and card stock too.

I see your last examples are from acrylic - I presume this must be cast acrylic? normally I laser cut acrylic. What feeds & speeds did you use for the acrylic?

The acrylic is poly-carbonate, I use a 3mm, two flute flat nose cutter. Spindle speed is a little over 9100rpm, feed is 500 with multi pass cuts for 9.5mm Polycarb. plunge is 250.
