Welcome to the forum, Claus

The older I get, the more I wish I had gone into architecture. Oops, too late for that now!

Hopefully you will get a lot of enjoyment out of using QCAD. For the money its hard to beat. Don't be afraid to reach out if you have any questions about the software.

hej hej (according to Google... )

Thanks Ryan!

Actually, I really enjoyed doing architecture tech drawings and presentations the old way, became more vivid than CAD stuff, of which I've also done a great deal.

Being retired sets limits on economy and the need for all the vast amount of very specialised functions in heavy CAD software. In what I have found out so far, QCAD fully seem to satisfy my needs as a hobbyist and in helping friends out on smaller projects.

I also plan to use QCAD in combination with MoI http://moi3d.com, a simple (cheap) and yet very useful software for 3D illustration and printing. Developed by Michael Gibson, one of the guys behinf Rhino.

I had never heard of moi3d. It looks pretty nice. I know about OpenSCAD, FreeCAD, and SketchUp for free 3D design, but I will need to check this out.
