Thanks for your report!

I can reproduce the issue.
Please try to toggle the Full Screen mode with the key "F11". That should give you access to the menus. Keep us posted on that.
What is your operation system? Windows 10?

@Andrew
F11 will deactivate the Menu function in QCAD/CAM. QCAD/Pro works flawless in Full Screen mode.

OK. I cannot reproduce that here. The menu is just all the way at the top but seems to work fine (QCAD/CAM 3.24.0), also after restarting.

I tested the behavior on Win10/64 / same .ini

Looks like that is not only the last update. Version: 3.21.0.0 was still working but not the other ones between Version: 3.21.0 and 3.24.0

I have the same problem on Ubuntu 16.04 with QCAD Professional Qt (qcad-3.24.2-pro-linux-qt5.13-x86_64.run) that I just downloaded.
I did not have this problem with the non Professional version that I was using before and I deleted from my system.
I tried resetting the configuration file, no difference.
The File, Edit, View, Select, Draw... menu shows when the mouse go to the top of the screen but clicking on it does not bring the lower level options/menu. F11 full screen does not make any difference.

Also, what is the difference between the Qt version and the non Qt (qcad-3.24.2-pro-linux-x86_64.run)?

Please help, I do not want to back to the non Pro version.

UPDATE: I just found that the cause for the lost of menu function is opening a file that was saved with the non Pro (community) version. I tried modifying the file and saving it (using the icons) but the problem persist.

Please switch off native menus:
Edit > Application Preferences > Widgets > Menu Bar > Use native menu bar (uncheck)

Then restart QCAD.

All QCAD versions use Qt. The packages with "Qt5.13" in the name also support Wayland instead of X11. The packages with "Qt4" in the name are for legacy Linux systems (usually really old distributions).

It works now. Thank you!

Why is an older/community .dxf have an effect on the menu? Strange.

It doesn't. Just a coincidence..
The menu works really unreliably on some systems (a bug of the Qt integration on some Ubuntu distributions).
