Cannot see folders on Linux

Post by Spiv » Wed Apr 20, 2022 2:09 pm

Hello all,
I use Linux Ubuntu (Kubuntu Plasma version).
Have the latest QCAD (qcad-3.27.1-pro-linux-x86_64).

If I go >file>open, I get to see my root directory only as in this screenshot:
QCAD no folders.jpg
QCAD no folders.jpg (150.49 KiB) Viewed 1682 times

While all my files are in my partitioned HDD, Documents>CAD subfolder, as in this screenshot:

If I click on one of my CAD files in my File Manager, then QCAD will opens it and I can save it in the CAD folder as well as SaveAs in the same of other subforders that are now visible:

Your first screenshot shows your home directory /home/spiv, not root (which would be /).

You should be able to click the green up arrow button at the top twice to navigate to root (/). You should then see the "media" directory and from there "spiv".
