[solved] qcad will not launch on my windows 10 machine

Post by sstapels » Sat Mar 06, 2021 11:58 pm

When I try to load qcad it launches and goes through a percent count on the splash screen. at 99% it shows reportTranslationError and then goes blank. Application is still running as can be seen on task manager, but no windows and not using any resources.

Originally it was showing the "new version available" screen and then never launched into the app.

I upgraded to Version 3.26, then removed it, rebooted and installed it on a different drive. No change in the symptoms.

No events in event viewer, not sure where else to look for logs.

never had a problem with it until this.

any help would be very much appreaciated

Try to reset QCAD to the default settings:

https://qcad.org/en/tutorial-resetting- ... figuration

Note: All customized settings are lost with this action.
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Thanks that did it. I figured uninstalling would have deleted all files, but that one hung around.

much appreciated
