Problem with Greek fonts

Hello everyone! I've been testing QCAD for a week now and I think it's great! I consider buying the pro version but I have a problem. When I open dwg and dwf projects with Greek characters are either missing or are shown as special symbols. Is there any fix for that?

This depends on the file and fonts that are used. Some fonts contain international glyphs in place of other characters. This is only supported in QCAD if QCAD can use the exact same font. If texts are stored in UTF-8, they should load and display fine.

Hi,

In short: One has to have the fontfile installed locally.
You didn't provide where those Greek characters are used for.

I'm attaching the dwg and the pdf of the draw.

The fonts at the table bottom right work fine. Those in the actual draw don't work

QCAD Version 3.25.2.0
OS Ubuntu 20.04

Hi, again,
In the drawing the font 'grsimpl' is used among others.
Right below that is 'Arial Greek'. I don't have that installed either.

You could use Edit .. Substitute font (FF) without a selection present.
There are 4 font-faces used.
Remark that this will alter your drawing.

I tried switching to other Greek fonts but none of them worked. Anyway, I'll keep trying and maybe I can find a solution. Thank you very much!

All 3 are shx ACAD fonts.

Can't help you further with that.
Maybe you could try to stored them under QCAD font holder.
I really don't know.

Unfortunately it didn't work, seems that QCAD can't read .shx. Anyway, thank you very much for your time!

meanwhile found that QCAD doesn't support shx fonts ...

The solution is to know someone with the ACAD installation CD.
On this CD the SHX fonts are included as TTF too.

Thanks again for your answer. I found some of the fonts from AutoCAD and it fixes the problems with those fonts. I'll try to get the other fonts too, maybe there are in older versions because 2021 version doesn't include them.
