Thank you, now I see that.
Any thoughts on the best or native file type to save my drawings in? From what I read dxf is likely the best. I'm currently using R32 DXF.

An internet search will give you all info what you need to see the differences between dwg and dxf.
Howsoever - in short: What the best format is for you depends on further exchange/processing.
If you need it only for yourself with QCAD - it doesn't matter.
If you need it for yourself but you need to exchange the drawing with other Programs like a CAM software - then chose the format which can be read by the CAM software. Most likely dxf. Keep an eye on the release format like R32. If your CAM can only read R27 then it will struggle on R32.
If you have an exchange with Auto cad guys - they will love the dwg format.
I work most of the time with R27 dxf, works in most of my cases ...
