dwg2maptiles - space around image

Post by simtaylo » Wed Jan 16, 2019 2:36 pm

Hi,

When I use the dwg2maptiles it generates a lot of white space around the drawing. If I save the same file to a image from QCAD the image is nicely set to the extents of the drawing. How can we do the same with dwg2maptiles so the 256 x 256 image is filled with the drawing ?

Attached a sample .bmp saved from QCAD and the 0 resolution image from dwg2maptiles

The 0 tile should indeed be centered and fill the whole tile. Can you attach, PM or mail your DXF or DWG please, thanks.

For all support requests, please:
- indicate the operating system you are using and the version thereof (e.g. Windows 10 32bit, Windows 8.1 64bit, Ubuntu 14.2 64bit, macOS 10.12, etc.)
- indicate the exact version of QCAD you are using (see Help > About or QCAD > About QCAD or indicate the name of the file you have downloaded and installed)

Thanks. There are some (empty) block references in the seemingly empty space of the drawing:

These will be ignored in a future version. For now, please delete those block references (rectangle select and delete).

I have turned on all the layers and I still cannot see these things to select them and delete ?

What about the other file, does that have the same problem ?

Many thanks for the help

These blocks are empty (i.e. there is nothing to display). You can find them by zooming out and selecting all (Select > Select all). They will then show up as blue reference points.

I also checked the other drawing, however, that case is a bit different. There appear to be block references with reference points far away from the drawing contents. Unfortunately, there is no easy workaround for such a file (short of exploding all block references). You'd have to wait for the next release for a fix.
