[solved] Print preview strange

Post by Rantanplan7 » Wed Mar 22, 2023 4:01 pm

Hi there,

I have a problem which I can't understand.
I work with some templates to make floor plans.
For whatever reason one of my templates is producing a very unusual behaviour as the drawing is not fitting anymore on my sheet of paper - don't know how to describe that - even not in German
I'll attach two different tamplates one in 1:25 (the troublemaker) and one in 1:50 (normal). And I swear that there wasn't any trouble with the 1:25 template some time ago (I'm not using that one that often so I cannot tell when this was happening.
If you open the file A4_25_Schubert.dwg and go to print preview you get the message "auto fit to paper". If you press yes you get the drawing a lot smaller. If you press no it will fit into the paper but I would agree that it is tight...
However for me it looks like there is a problem with the function auto fit.
Autofit:

No Autofit:

Program error or is there something I'm doing wrong?

If you load the template file and then select all (Select > Select All), you can see that there are (empty) block references to the right of the drawing border. If you remove those, the auto fit / auto zoom will work as expected.

Speechless. I could have searched hours without finding this. Nothing listed in the block list but still something on the drawing.
I have no idea how I created this. So there is still good chances that I do this again, but at least I know now how to get rid of it.
Thanks for showing me the fault and for the lighning quick answer.
Best Regards

Block definition '02_PolarCLAIM' is listed in the Block List.
It is not empty ... 1 image 'C:/Daten/Bilder/LOGO/Claim_Polar_Farbe_RGB_72dpi.png'

I such case I do Select All (TA), that will even select Null-entities.
Here you could also do a right click on Block '02_PolarCLAIM' and opt for 'Select Block References' (B+) in the context menu.
