scale issues
When I'm trying to modify a building plan, I wanted to create a 48" horizontal line and its way off scale. like it's much bigger than it should be compared to the rest of my floor plan?
Re: scale issues
hi,
Uncommon because the general advice is to draw everything at 1:1, how we print/plot this depends on the paper scale.
We would not know for sure without an example drawing.
Is it possible to attach the drawing in question?
Or send it to one of the moderators by PM (Private Message).
You could also verify the overall size with the real dimensions ...
A few test cases with Info > Distance Point to Point (IP) should do the trick.

probably the building plan is drawn to scale.

Re: scale issues
Yes, you are correct, when I copied the section of building to a new file I must have gotten the building way out of scale. like very small but didn't realize it till I tried to draw a 4' line. Finally (like hours later), I used the scale modifier tool to change the drawing to match what it was supposed to be.
I think that's called a rookie mistake!
Thanks for the help.

Re: scale issues
We all made them ...
With most tools always keep an eye on the Options Toolbar ... And in this case the copy/paste Scale factor.
When solved please edit the title of your initial posting and prefix it with [SOLVED], thanks.
