Change polar reference to zero degrees is up, 180 is down

Post by lines » Thu Dec 08, 2022 4:41 pm

I work in a world where up is zero degrees (and 360), 90 degrees is right, 180 is down and 270 is left.
Can I set this up as the default polar system?

QCad Pro 3.27.8.0

Hi,

Basic mathematics tells us that zero degrees is right ... East.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_circle

An that is the way it is in QCAD.
The X-axis is horizontal and increasing values are to the right.
Zero degree is the positive X-axis and forward angles are pointing CCW.
As long as QCAD doesn't support an UCS there is little we can do.

BTW: It does support UCS internally while reading files but you can not alter that.

This said, there is a way around this:
