dashed linetype (circles ve lines) SOLVED

Post by bambuko » Wed Sep 01, 2021 10:18 am

I am using dashed line, Dashed (.5x) to be precise, scaled at 0.1 to draw some lines and circles.
Lines display OK, but circles appear solid and not dashed :?
I am confused...
help, please

Sorry, didn't think it was worth attaching a file with a single circle in it
I am travelling at the moment without access to Qcad, so will not be able to do it until I am back, but I will asap.

Yep, that annoys me for some time too ...

All entities are on the same layer, Dashed .5, 0.35, no scale, Screen-Based Line-types mode "ON", unfortunately (confusingly!) correct rendering fails for arcs and circles.

Same here:

A: Not using Screen Based the Linetype Scale has to be adequate in relation with the drawing size.
B: Solved for splines entities a while ago.
C: The dashes reappear at a certain deeper zoom state.
D: For some entities dashes may reappear with a higher minimum rendering angle step value.
(App.Prefs. Appearance; Default is 0.2).

Thank you guys,
glad I am not alone

I have tried different linetype scales to no avail,
I have tried zooming in - made no difference
The only thing I haven't tried is to plot it to see whether it is just display that is wonky
will try rendering angle step when I get back home, but....
as far as I am concerned it is a bug

With Husky's file. ScreenBased.

At this zoom state the larger circle looks dashed.

The polyline arc right-low not yet.
There the dashes will reappear when zooming in to about 2x2 units.

For the 1/4 arc in the middle of the drawing dashes will reappear somewhat in between those zoom states.

So it seems radius related ... :?
