In CAD it is common practice to control the visibility of entities with layer. To be able to toggle the visibility of e.g. hatches put all hatches on a layer and switch from visible to invisible as you need it in your workflow.

Thank you for the layers tip with Hatch ( I didn't realise that). A great timesaver!
