[solved] How do I align my drawing with different paper?

Post by turtle » Thu Mar 25, 2021 7:03 pm

Hi all I am attempting to align this drawing at anew scale / paper.
Got the scale and paper changed.
entered print preview
then I try select all
cut with reference cntrl + shift + X
drawing disappears as expected
then
Cntrl + C to paste
click snap free
now nothing program seems frozen
am I missing something?

Posting a stripped down version of the file, the original has many more layers and 2 bitmaps, but this one still has the problem

Thanks for any advice!

When I try your method it seems to work fine for me. I'm running QCAD 3.26.1 on Win10 Pro.

So far so good but what is the goal for the next steps?

To change the scale - I don't think so.
To rotate the drawing - maybe ...
Please elaborate the goal of those steps. Thanks.

Hi Husky, thanks
when I changed the scale the drawing no longer shows up in the same place.
I can post the original if you want.
Thanks

You can move the Paper position in Print Preview. Would that solve the issue?

Well golly that worked,
Thanks!
I knew it must be something simple I was missing.
I have always cut and pasted the entire drawing.
Still not sure why cut and paste did not work this time, perhaps drawing too big?
The hand fixes it, problem solved.
Thank you for Qcad!
