how do I create a pattern (array) of objects?

Post by Krischu » Sun Feb 28, 2021 9:18 am

QCAD 3.25.2.0, macOS 11.2.2

How do I create a pattern of, say, squares?

I have created a square like 0,0;0,0 / 0,25;0,25 and would like to repeat it in Y with pitch 0,25 in Y.

To generalize it, repeat a pattern in x,y, nx,ny-times, with pitch px,py.

Create a block with this square,
select the block, chose insert,
chose in the option bar "Array of Blocks",
answer the questions in the dialog, ok, place the array in your Model_Space - done.
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Select the block - OK
choose insert ? Where is Insert?

OK, I found Create Block from Selection.
I select a reference point and give the Block a name.
But Insert symbol (blue arrow down) is greyed out.
I got it working to some extent.
