Open files in same one QCAD application with several windows
When I open files from explorer, It is opened a QCAD application every file. There is anyway to by default open each file in same QCAD application with several windows? See attached image. It is because each time I open file QCAD must loads and I lose several seconds. Thanks.

This should indeed be the case.

Re: Open files in same one QCAD application with several windows
Well, I would like to be able to do the exact opposite if possible.
All drawings I open are opened into tabs inside the same windows.
Some time, I need to compare drawings so I'd like to display them in different windows to display them on different screen. However, I couldn't find how to detach a tab into a new windows (and I hope it's possible to do the other way around too).
I'm using Qcad 3.26.2 on Linux.

Hi,
Windows7 QCAD PRO
In my case it is as sinase shows as 'Wanted', what is also confirmed by Andrew.
Drawings all open up as tabs in the same GUI.
There is a switch one add to the QCAD.exe shortcut:
-allow-multiple-instances
Then one can open multiple GUI's side by side.
In those GUI's one can open different files.
Even then, any file opens as a tab of the first QCAD instance when using the explorer 'Open with' or by double clicking it.
But all are listed up in the shared 'Recent files' list what can be handy in the other GUI's ...
I don't know anybody with 12 screens or so.
2 or 3 instances and opening the files with QCAD Ctrl+O won't be that of an issue.

CVH

Re: Open files in same one QCAD application with several windows
Thank you CVH,
I only needed to change the launcher in linux and add -allow-multiple-instances to the command to get the result I wanted.
I hope some day, it will be possible to "open in a new window" within Qcad and move Tabs around between windows.

You can open multiple windows within Qcad, each window has a tab at the top. If I have Qcad open and I double click on dwg/dxf files from within a file explorer, they all open in the same Qcad instance in their own tabbed window.

Re: Open files in same one QCAD application with several windows
If I open within Qcad it opens only Tabs not in a new window. For that, I have to launch Qcad with -allow-multiple-instances which is doable of course but giving the choice within Qcad would ease the work and moving tabs around between windows would be great.
