I'm noew to qcad - so please forgive my ignorance if this is a stupid question.
I have a 2d drawing from which i'd like to get the area/surface masuerements.
I understand there is a polyline/polygonal funtion in the information tool section. To be honest, i havent fiegured out how to apply those tool - Do i have to select each line/point manualy (which would be quite a PITA) ? Is there a simple(r) method?
thx in adavance

Re: Surface/Area measurements
Which areas are you looking for?
Would it be possible to post the dxf?

Re: Surface/Area measurements
thx for your reply.
Well, i'm lookung for the area between the most outer cyan line and the inner, dark blue line - minus the cyan and blue "holes"....
Please find the dxf attached. I "restructered" into 3 layers (outer, inner, cut-outs) to make it more clear.

Re: Surface/Area measurements
Ok, thanks. QCAD will help you with the math but will not do the entire calculation for you ...
You need: Change some entity styles, the Property Editor, a Pocket calculator
How I would solve it ...
Select and convert all shapes to polyline with OG or OC,
select blue circle - move them temp. to Layer "Cut outs",
Select Layer "Outer" - write down the Total Area from the "Property Editor",
Select Layer "Inner" - write down the Total Area from the "Property Editor",
Select Layer "Cut outs" - write down the Total Area from the "Property Editor",
Use a Pocket calculator etc. to do the math (1-2-3) ...
