Edit block
I like the new function "edit block in place" and because of that I have played around a bit with "edit block".
Might be a bit sad as I'm working a couple of years with QCAD but I don't understand that function.
Example - I make a drawing with a couple of blocks from the library and I make a right mouse click on one block and choose edit block.
QCAD puts that block in minus (x and y coordinates) and the rest of the drawing looks like it is gone. And I can't see how to end this edit function and to go back to my drawing....

Re: Edit block
Ups, sorry got it. Return to main drawing...
Didn't saw that as I was trying a right click on bits and pieces of the block and not on empty space.

Re: Edit block
The user manual would also come to the rescue:

Re: Edit block
And I'm still a bit confused. Why can't I rename a block? Or which are the circumstances to allow me to rename a block?

Yes, that's what I tell my colleagues as well sometimes - RTFM -andrew wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 8:09 amThe user manual would also come to the rescue:

So I have read the manual but it doesn't helps me to find the reason why I#m not allowed to rename a block. Even not if I just draw two rectangles, join them to a block and try to rename that block....

Re: Edit block
How to you attempt to rename a block? What happens if you are trying to rename a block?
Note that you cannot rename the model space block.

Re: Edit block

Re: Edit block
You have to select / mark the block which has to be renamed. Then use BN ...Rantanplan7 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 25, 2020 8:30 amIn the menu - rename block - but it is grey. Command line BN no reaction.
Your main canvas (where you design your drawing) is called model space block / Model_Space

Re: Edit block
Ok - now I understand what I have to do in case I have to rename a block.
But I have no idea about the reason / working in the background.
The model space is my drawing, and all the other items in the blocklist is virtually just the list of bits and pieces which are in the file, regardless if they are in use on my drawing or not and I cannot edit blocks in my drawing but in the list?
Even more helpful to have edit in place now.
So I have learned something new today. Might be helpful in the future, thanks Husky.
