Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
1. Mark the layers to be deleted in the layer list
2. Right click
3. Delete layer "YR"
Thomas
PS:
Mark layers with SHIFT or CTRL / CMD
2. Right click
3. Delete layer "YR"
Thomas

Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
One can simply type 'YR' too.
This does not work if you are in the layer list (which you are automatically in when you mark the layers to be deleted).
So right click and select "yr" is the better way.

Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
Hi Thomas,
Windows7 32 bit:
Did try it out several ways. Even with the layer list floating.
Selecting multiple layers with Ctrl or Shift and type 'YR' works for me ... every time.
What doesn't turn out correct is the right-click when not on a selected layer.
That changes the selection and one can start over.
The reason I use YR after spitting through a layer list.

Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
I tested it in QCAD 3.25.2 on windows 10, 32 bit and "YR" works as you say there.
Under macOS it only works if you are not in the layer list.
Perhaps Andrew can correct this, but I'm afraid it will come back to a "bug with Qt".
Anyway, it's not dramatic as the right click and delete works fine on both Windows and macOS.

Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
TSG: Please check your preferences on macOS:
Edit > Application Preferences > General > Keyboard > Enable keyboard navigation in list widgets
If this preference is checked, you can use arrow keys or type starting letters to navigate the layer list and block list. Downside: key codes don't work if a list has the keyboard focus.

checked: "YR" doesn't work.
unchecked: "YR" works as expected but no more navigation with arrow keys.

Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
I forgot: is it possible to correct this in QCAD-macOS so that the behavior is the same like in QCAD-windows?

Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
As far as I can tell, it is the same as on Windows: You have to choose between keyboard navigation in lists or working shortcuts when operating lists. This is expected behavior.
Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
Thomas,
From what I can read above the behavior is the same.
Mine was/is not set, unchecked. Typing = command.

Re: How to delete multiple layers quickly?
I deleted the QCAD3.ini on both systems and what can I say:
the installations under Windows and macOS behave in the same way.
"Enable keyboard navigation in list widgets" is unchecked:
-> no navigation with arrow keys
-> YR deletes marked layer
-> any other letter doesn't do nothing (I love double negations)
"Enable keyboard navigation in list widgets" is checked:
-> navigation with arrow keys is possible
-> YR does nothing
-> first letter of layer name jumps to that layer
I would prefer if
"Enable keyboard navigation in list widgets" is checked:
-> navigation with arrow keys is possible
-> YR deletes marked layer
-> any other letter does nothing
But there ist still my right click
