how to incorporate XREF? SOLVED

Post by UserError » Tue Sep 15, 2020 10:39 am

Hello, I have received a simple DWG with a site boundary and Ordnance Survey base mapping as an XREF. The mapping displays but I can't seem to access it. When I save the file as a DXF, the XREF data isn't included.

I recall Exploding these in Draftsight but that doesn't seem to be an option.
Is there a way to embed/bring the XREF into the drawing or some other way of ensuring it is exported?
Many thanks.

UPDATE When a layer is selected, there are blue nodes/handles, however this doesn't happen when the XREF data was clicked: I noticed that the lines subtly changed shade of red and enabled me to explode it and I get the blue handles.
Just exported to DXF & imported into QGIS OK.
