line width & font size
When I open DXF files that were created in solid works the lines are VERY thick and when I use the dimension tool the font is also thick so the numbers are not readable. Can anyone help me with the command or preference to change this?

Re: line width & font size
Sure - but we need to see the dxf to help you efficient. Please attache the dxf or an example dxf which shows the same issue. Thanks.
Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Re: line width & font size
Fixable by going to Edit, Drawing Preferences, General, Drawing Unit, and changing the entry from 'None' to a value like 'Inch'
Re: line width & font size
RandallG - YOU ARE AWESOME. Thank you
Re: line width & font size
Troubled because the file in the topic loads perfectly fine.
QCADpro 3.24.3.0 / win7pro 32 bit / Metric
Cheked some things:
- Drawing Prefs, Drawing Unit = 'None', Paper Unit = 'mm', System = 'Imperial'
- All entities are on 'LAYER_1'; All 'by Layer'
- No Blocks
- 'Layer_1' settings are: 'White', 'Default' and 'Continuous'
- Application Prefs Default lineweight = '0.00mm'
Changing the Unit as proposed only changes the drawing unit.
It may have solved the issue for you.
I did not have the issue!!!

CVH

Re: line width & font size
This is interesting. I just tried it again. If I open the file in Ubuntu using Qcad Pro 3.24.3 (64bit), the lines are thick and require changing Drawing Units to inches. After CVH's response, I checked it in Qcad Pro 3.24.3 (64bit) in Windows 10 and the lines were drawn correctly with no change required but the Drawing Units were set to None.
Re: line width & font size
My point confirmed.
Can you reproduce this more then once?
Do you mind to enter a bugreport?

Re: line width & font size
Upon further inspection, all the lines, curves, and circles are drawn with polylines (rather than just 'lines')
If you click the curves and circles you'll see some interesting results.
I wouldn't even know where to begin creating a bug report for this with all these
variables. Help! Andrew?

Re: line width & font size
It has noting to do with the nature of the entities. (12 Polys)
Easy to test on both OS with an explosion of all to entities. (TA-XP) (389 Lines & 4 Arc's).
It has more to do with the props I listed.
And those aren't any different across entities nor across platform, only the look on both OS differs.
And yes, I saw the strange construction of the circular shape and those 2 round notches.
Both not circular but polys from an ellipse or an ellipse arc.
Probably by mistake or beyond awareness or originated from a 3e party like Inkscape or so.
Maybe one remark:
Polylines without continuous pattern.
That is one extra variabel.
