[solved] Bitmap export ignores plottable status?

I've noticed when I export a .png of a drawing, any layers I had specified as not plottable are still visible in the image file. No big deal either way since I can just hide the layer before exporting. I'm just curious is this was by design to not match the output behavior of a pdf or printer. I didn't want to post this under the troubleshooting category as it might totally be an intended behavior.

Yes, intended behavior. Plottable refers only to printing on paper or pdf.

You might also want to have a look at layer states which might be more appropriate to store different layer states for printing, bitmap export, etc.:
