Win10, QCAD 3.24.0.0. I am VERY new to QCAD!
I inherited this file and have been keeping it up. The project started about 7 years ago using AutoCAD (various versions & several people), and for the last 3-4 years, I've been updating using Draftsight 2D (free version). I've moved the .dwg to QCAD dxf to continue updating.
My example: layer TREES_ORIGINAL do not show when ONLY that layer is displayed. When Layer '0' is 'hidden', the TREES do not display.
When I toggle view off Layer "0", many things are hidden that I assumed would be on different layers. When I select an entity that I thought was on a different layer ie. TREES, Property Manager SAYS tha entity is on layer TREES, but TREES layer doesn't display when all others but TREES are turned off.
Is this a possible sublayer? How can I tell what is a sublayer?
FYI - I didn't buy the E-Book.

Re: possible sublayers? I don't know...
QCAD Pro is able to read and write dwg.
No, there are no sublayer in your drawing.
Incorrect. The content of that layer are only trees. Those trees are inserted from a block (A$C257D5B13). This block is using layer 0 (what is good) for the content. Is layer TREES_ORIGINAL visible and everything else invisible you can see the trees.
The "things" are hidden because there are drawn directly on layer 0.
To see both layer switch layer 0 and layer TREES_ORIGINAL visible ...
This drawing started pretty good regarding the layer structure. But it looks like somebody lost over the time interest in that structure and placed a lot of "things" without any further organization on layer 0. Maybe you are now the right man/woman to fix that .....
