How To combine objects into single moveable object

Create say a square and a circle in Qcad separated from each other..

Then how do you combine the square and circle into one object.?

Other cad programs uses "GROUP" to group line segments and objects into one grouped object.

How does Qcad do it ?

The same for an object consisting of several connected lines. How do you combine them into one object ?

Hi TreestumpExhaustpipe - welcome to the QCAD Forum,

what you are looking for is called "Block" in QCAD. A brief description for the functionality of a Block in QCAD can be find here:

Perfect thanks.
That solves it, works like a charm.
Reading the manual, you would never say that Blocks is what is needed.
After you confirmed it does, I made it work.
Not obvious at all. Thanks.

While I have your attention, how do you extrude in Qcad ?
I have a 2d design (lines in xy, that I want to extrude to 3mm thickness)
Guess I have to make the surface solid (face) before I can extrude, but the manual is vague if this is possible.

I am sorry I have to ask these trivial questions, but unfortunately the QCAD manual is not searchable and google searches only brings up one grainy video I cant make out. Is there a searchable pdf version of the manual available? The html version from the interface in qcad is pretty useless as it has no search function.

TreestumpExhaustpipe: Please post different, unrelated questions into separate topics, thanks.
