[solved] Arcs

Post by slyde » Tue Dec 12, 2017 1:54 am

Hi Forum:

This isn't a QCAD-specific issue, just something I need help with. I don't understand how to draw this:

That's a drawing another user here put out for me to try to draw. And this is what I ended up with:

My arcs are way off. The only one I think I got right was the middle one (R35). I'm pretty good with math, but I can't figure this one out. The one day I skip school and I missed this lesson :D Will someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Look! It's a bird. No! It's a plane! NO! It's QCAD hotkeys...faster than a possum falling out of a tree!!

With this given information I would use the Round (RN) tool ....

Center radius = 35
inside / outside measurements are known ø26/ø40
So, launch the Round Tool, the outside radius (1) for the pipe needs to be 35+20 (put this mathematical expression directly in the Radius field .... or search for your Pocket-calculator .... )
use then horizontal / vertical entities to built the round ...

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.

Thanks, Husky. Like you said to me, I drew out my vertical and horizontal lines of the pipe's OD and ID, then used the Round tool. But I didn't know how to formulate the curves (arcs). But I now see what you're talking about.

35+20
35+13
35-13
35-20

Sure do appreciate you.
