How to make Scale Options proportional by default
Hi,
I'm using QCAD version 6.5.2; recently upgraded from 4.8.6.
OS is MacOS 14.1.2
On my older version of QCAD the scale option tool held the proportional feature as a default. Now I seem to need to click the chain link button each time I change scale, which is fiddly. Is there a way to make the proportional feature the default setting?
Many thanks

Re: How to make Scale Options proportional by default
This has been fixed for the next release:
https://qcad.org/en/changelog
FS#2525
Please note that there are no QCAD versions 6.5.2 or 4.8.6. Could this be the Qt version?
The current QCAD version is 3.29.3.

Re: How to make Scale Options proportional by default
Thanks Andrew,
Ah, I see the two version entries now. It's QCAD Version 3.28.2.4 (3.28.2.4) in the recent upgrade; and my older version was 3.9.1.0 (3.9.1) which had a number of features which seemed to work more smoothly. (I actually liked the fact that the bitmap import button on the old version showed a colour photograph whereas the newer version is B&W, like something on a Canon camera display which doesn't have colour capability...)
The change proposed is as follows:
" FS#929 - Modify - Scale: Proportional scaling has no effect
If the keep proportions button is checked in the scale dialog, no scaling is performed."
What I am encountering is slightly different, insofar as when I check the proportion button I achieve what I want to achieve for that single action; but the newer CAD version won't keep that as a default operation, whereas the older version did.
Are we talking about the same thing? In which case, do you know what the timeframe is on such changes? Thanks

Re: How to make Scale Options proportional by default
We cannot communicate a timeline for the next version as this depends on passing unit tests on all platforms. This is not considered a high priority issue.
Re: How to make Scale Options proportional by default
I'm sure. Thanks for that and for your help with the upgraded version. Féidhlim
Re: How to make Scale Options proportional by default
The button icon was indeed updated on Dec 12, 2018
Probably a Dark theme related update.
https://github.com/qcad/qcad/commit/a2b ... 9c64930347
And you can download the previous SVG from there.
It should be possible to customize button images.

Although I did not tested that (yet) for the default theme ...

Thanks for that.
Re: How to make Scale Options proportional by default
QCAD 3.29.4 is now available which should fix this issue.
Re: How to make Scale Options proportional by default
Thanks Andrew, I'll try that.
