I noticed a forum post from a few years ago saying that there were no shortcuts to switch layers. My apologies if there is a more recent post answering my question, but I'm wondering if anything is different, now. I think it would be handy to be able to bind specific keys to change the active layer. For instance, maybe each layer is given a numeric value based on it's alphabetical order. Maybe then something like A1 or A2, etc. to switch currently active layers. Or maybe an option to create a custom key combination based on user preference.
Just my 2 cents. I Love QCAD so far

Re: Layer hotkey
No there isn't.
Yes, could be handy.
A2 and A3 are reserved.
Well, with 2 or 10 layers that could be true, what with 50 or 100 layers?ryancousins wrote: ↑Wed Mar 25, 2020 3:09 ameach layer is given a numeric value based on it's alphabetical order.
Counting would not be handy.
And if you need to scroll in the Layers Widget to look it up, it serves nothing anymore.
I was rather thinking in the relative direction as 1 up and 1 down.
You could enter a feature request at:
https://www.qcad.org/bugtracker/index.php
You will need a separate account and login for that.
Best is to include a link in both ways.

Re: Layer hotkey
Thank you for the info. A1, A2 were just examples. It could just as easily be something different. But you bring up a good point about 50 or 100 layers. That would get a little crazy.
