Howdy all~!
Would it be possible to have points follow a line?
Example: if I made a Circle or Arc, could I have a set number of points evenly distributed along that path? (the image below I did by hand. It is only 5 points but I do a *LOT* points in my work)
I see the new version has "Points On An Entity"
Point Tools (WP)
-----> N Points On A Line (PN)
-----> On Entity (ST)
And that comes kinda close, but not exactly what I was looking for. (As I mentioned above, I do a lot of pattern-drilling~!)

Hi Sterling and welcome to the forum
I think this topic has come up before somewhere in the forum. I agree a tool to place points to follow on arcs/circles/other paths would be great for QCAD.
Please feel free to submit a feature request here:
http://www.ribbonsoft.com/bugtracker/
In the meantime, although not ideal this may help.
1.After drawing arc or circle use the 'Split Entities' tool -Modify > Split Entities (MS) to split your arc or circle into an even number of required parts (this will create more arcs which may or may not be a problem).
2.Select the point (single) tool and place points on the end points only by making sure your snap selection is set only for end points.
3.Although not that quick you can place points snapping to the end points of the arcs.
Only a workaround but hope it helps.

For the best support please state your operating system, QCAD version and add any supporting DXF/DWG files, screenshots etc...

Groovy, thanx!
I will give that a try and let you know~!!!

Re: Points on a line (curve and/or angle, etc...)
Hello,
I found this post and wondering if there are any updates on this feature? I'm using Professional version: 3.25.2.0 (3.25.2) and at the moment struggle to find functionality that is capable of placing objects(circle in my case) on the curved line with a specified distance between each element? I need this type of functionality to define wholes on the pattern I make and except splitting the entity into an equal number of elements and placing at the end required objects, I don't see any other option at the moment. Can anyone advise if there is such a possibility? A sample of what I'm trying to achieve is on the screenshot below:

Hi,
try the QCAD tool "Paste along Entity" ...

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
Win10/64, QcadPro, QcadCam version: Current.
If a thread is considered as "solved" please change the title of the first post to "[solved] Title..."

Could try Rotate Two (R2)?tmuryn wrote: ↑Mon Oct 26, 2020 12:17 amHello,

Re: Points on a line (curve and/or angle, etc...)
I like that! Excellent. I'm using 3.25.2.1 (Win 10) and when I hover over the entity it'll only preview a few of the clipboard items, but when I accept position it then fills in all the remainder.
Thanks again. Best
Windows 10

Thank you for the solution to the problem, works exactly as required! Attaching gif with 'how to' for anyone else who is interesting in this functionality.
