How to Transfer license other computer

Do you have a question you want to ask an existing QCAD user about QCAD and what you can do with it? Do you want to know if a particular feature exists? This is the place to ask.

How to Transfer license other computer

Post by Masaimara2 » Sat Sep 16, 2023 8:39 am

I bought Qcad version 3.28 with my laptop. Now I should transfer the program to my desktop computer with which I work. Is it possible and if so how does it happen? Note: I'm not asking about copying files, but about transferring the License to my desktop. OS: Linux Mint 21.2

You can simply re-download the full version and install on your desktop computer.

No display! I have tried all possible tricks and there is no display on the screen. Does it matter that I had two screens on my desktop?

It's the same thing all the time. So it's not about the license or the installation, but about something else. But what?
At no point has anything appeared on the screen. still, when I ran the qcad-bin file on the command line, the machine reported that the program was already running. What Linux program can I use to see running programs?

Okay, I ran ps -A and indeed qcad-bin is running. so for free it is a question that qcad does not update the video at all. I found a report about a similar problem while browsing the internet. several screens and nothing appears on the screen. Is this the issue and the fault?

It's the same thing all the time. So it's not about the license ...
Licenses are personal, you may install QCAD on any machine you are using for yourself.
Licenses are unlimited in time, you may use your QCAD installation for ever.
Access to the download area is limited in time.

Is the OS of your laptop the same as your desktop?
Otherwise you need to download a specific installation file for your desktop.
