Is there a different user manual for the community version than the pro version? No. If you find that the manual does not fit the software, you are very likely looking at an outdated manual or tutorial for QCAD version 2. Please double-check your auto snap preferences (see above). If the Grid option is unchecked, QCAD should never use grid snap, unless of course you explicitly choose Snap > Grid during an operation. I am now able to get it work independent from the dreaded grid snap. However, it is not stable. I set it on "free snap" and then go to use it and it often reverts back to snap on grid. If I persevere, it will hold long enough to do what I want. There must be something I am still missing. I did have ...

[solved] How to disable the grid function.

Can someone assist me here please?
When I try to draw a line with a chosen starting point, the grid directs the cursor to where I don't want it. Slight one way or the other.

Thanks for the reply Husky. The version that I have installed and am using is 3.16.4 Have I been looking at the wrong manual? It appears that I have been. I will investigate further.
