Re: Import From AutoCAD Leaves Huge Dimensions
Thanks. I'm trying to see if I can get him to agree to let me share the file.

Re: How to create your own Layer Standards ...
I wish the main page of the User Reference Manual included a search function! I had not checked the "New from Template" since I assumed that wouldn't say anything about creating templates. I see I was wrong. So basically any file in the template directory is a template? Great! I can use that. Thanks!

Re: Tool Matrix - Can I Move Areas Around?
Okay, thanks. For now, it's easier for me to keep the Tool Matrix there and easier to read the icons in it. As I get more used to things, I'm sure I'll be using more and more toolbars and eventually I'll probably use all toolbars and just not need the whole big widget.

Re: How to create your own Layer Standards ...
I know this is veering off topic, but since you brought it up... I've been searching. I can't find "Template" in the QCAD manual and when I search I find a few bits here and there, but nothing clear on now to use templates. Is this a plug-in for the Pro version or built in and where can I find a hel...

Re: Tool Matrix - Can I Move Areas Around?
I have no trouble moving the toolbars around. I mean the sections in the big Tool Matrix widget. For example, I'm pointing to the Dimensions and Info sections with purple arrows and boxes in this image and the big Tool Matrix widget with a red arrow and box. Within that Tool Matrix widget, is there ...

Re: Import From AutoCAD Leaves Huge Dimensions
On a new drawing, my DIM settings are 1, when I import the AC file, the DIM settings are 48. So I guess that explains a lot, but when I change the DIM setting on the imported file to 1, it doesn't change the size of the numbers, it just makes the line width they're drawn with thinner. Also, I notice...

Tool Matrix - Can I Move Areas Around?
On the Tool Matrix, can I move sections around? For instance, I'd like to have "Dimensions" and "Info" together at the bottom. Is there a way to move them? (I know I can open and close each one. I just want to move things around so it's easier to find them for me and the way I work.)

Re: How to create your own Layer Standards ...
Thank you! Ok - to use this Layer List with the Library Browser you need at least one entity (Line, Circle etc.) which is assigned to a Layer. Your drawing has the Layer but no entity. Please see in my description above the Screenshot with all those horizontal Lines. Understood. I went ahead and cr...

If you are confident to send them to a named QCAD Moderator via PM then I can assure you that the file will stay confidential - we never share them or make them public. We respect confidential material to 100%! I'll ask him about it. Since I gave him my word, I have to do that. I think there's a go...

Re: Import From AutoCAD Leaves Huge Dimensions
Should I be able to just open the file from the "Open File" icon or is that what I was doing wrong? Yes - it should work with "Open" the file. Something is wrong with the AutoCad file. The proper procedure - in my opinion - would be to fix the problem and save the file so that you never have to dea...

Re: Import From AutoCAD Leaves Huge Dimensions
I think I just solved it. Before I just clicked on the "Open File" icon on the tool bar and opened the file. This time, as I started to do that, it hit me that was probably the problem, so I checked the File menu, found, "Import," and used that. I pasted it into the current drawing, which was blank,...

Re: How to create your own Layer Standards ...
Case: you are working on a drawing, you need a item out of your library, open the Library Browser, look for your item and insert it into the DRAWING area, if the item is placed in your drawing it will automatically be placed in your Block List for this drawing too, next time you need this same item...

Import From AutoCAD Leaves Huge Dimensions
I'm using QCAD Pro 3.17.1.0 on macOS 10.12.4. I've found issues on the forum with AutoCAD imports, but I didn't find one like this. When I searched for terms that related to the size of the dimensions, I found a few issues, but nothing related to this. Someone sent me some AutoCAD files to test for ...

Re: How to create your own Layer Standards ...
I must be doing something wrong. Here's what I did: I created a library folder in my Documents folder. (On macOS, just for reference.) Restarted QCAD so the change would be read in (as directed to by QCAD) I opened a file with the layer list I want to use Saved the file to my library directory (empt...
