Tool Depth Change

I Cut my VacBracket and noticed something strange. When I setup the tool depth for the 6.22 mm end mill, in the Cam tool setup, I set it for Z-12.3 from the top of the material. When I converted to G-code all the depths, were changed to Z-11.6167 mm by the converter. Why did it come up short in the ...

Re: Outer Tool Path

I was with they assumption that when I made it one solid gray poly-line they were all connected. I cant figure how to connect these lines, have any advice on how to connect. This is probably why I have been having issues overall, having incomplete poly-lines

Outer Tool Path

I have a question, I have a drawing, sort has a shape of a pin pong paddle. I have some internal cut ous they worked fine. But when I went to set the tool path to cut the outside, it wouldn't set to the outside, it switch to the inside. My setting s are, Side:Outside, Depth:5.5, Lead in:Normal, Lead...

Mystery home position

I assume I am doing something wrong, but I can't figure it out. I always create drawings with the x,y/0,0 in the lower left hand corner. I setup everything from that position. But in some of the G-code display, there is some mystery home position that the router moves to, that makes me a little nerv...

Re: Generated G-code Issue/ Mach3

I don't know if it is related, you mentioning Static Charge. But when the chips fly, which I have containment enclosure, the chips are sticking on the sides, which we call static cling, just like clothes. I guess cutting the Lexan causes static. Maybe not just grounding the electronics but grounding...

Re: Generated G-code Issue/ Mach3

I am lost, thought it may have been generated in QCad/Cam, but I doubt it. I have a Gremlin in my system that pops up and disappears. I did the full version of that G-code and had no issues and worked perfectly. When I first executed the G-code the spindle went up beyond its limit, I stopped it and ...

Re: Indexing

This is my Router, it is a Chinese 3040, don't have allot of room to play in the Z area. I just need to come up with something for quick setup. I don't intend on making multiple parts, but just in case I need another, work area is limited. I am kind of thinking of a separate G-code for setup and loca...

Re: Indexing

I understand that part with the dowel pins and fence, I used it when I use to run a manual Bridgeport. One problem I have these CNC Routers they don't have allot of Z height, so if I start stacking It limits my Z play. I just thought with a CNC, maybe could setup a point array somewhat, to get a fas...

Indexing

Is there a way to index a part for the CNC Router. Let say I have a part with no square edges to 0,0 from, it has a bunch of curves. Let say I took the part off the base or just want to flip and do the others side of the part. In graphics, like screen printing multi colors or maybe colors in a magaz...

Re: Generated G-code Issue/ Mach3

I have an additional question. I ran this an a piece of Lexan, everything ran fine till it came to around line N3540 or N3550. It did the last cut and it was going to do another tool change, the Z2 then it Z10 and then it G28 (return to home) before it move in the X/Y the Z went down Aprox. 10 mm be...

Re: Generated G-code Issue/ Mach3

I think I figured it out. The issue was with the arc, the tool radius needs do be less than the arc radius. The tool was off by 0.185 mm or .007 of an inch. I tweaked it and it seem to work. That is slightly larger that the thickness of a human hair. That would run in the QCad/Cam simulation, but wo...

Re: Generated G-code Issue/ Mach3

I have an other issue down the road in the original G-code. This is one segment of the BoxBottom, I ran the G-code program it worked good till it came to this point. It stalled at line N120. I tried to execute an other line beyond N120 and it will go to N20 and not move. Of course this was created i...

Re: Generated G-code Issue/ Mach3

The "N10 G0 Z10" worked, so I will play around with adding the other G-code.

Thank You!!
