Re: Add a viewport to a paper space block (experimental)
Thanks Andrew, completely understand and yes I am more than happy of course to wait, just couldn't help not to play though at the moment :D For now I can see this being very useful for selecting full drawing layouts though, but of course I fully understand that in time it will function better, thank...

Okay thanks, so I have double-clicked on the paper space block. How do I only select part of the drawing?

Re: Add a viewport to a paper space block (experimental)
Maybe I'm missing some steps in between somehow?
1.Select the viewport in model space.
2. In the property editor add the centre point.
3 ?

Re: Add a viewport to a paper space block (experimental)
Thanks, I used the view port tool and selected a part on your drawing.
...and set the viewport centre but when I double click the layout space I get nothing at all!

Re: Add a viewport to a paper space block (experimental)
Andrew, thanks, yes based on your example this is exactly what I would expect, however using your drawing I have tried to do the same thing with another part and I cannot get what I need showing up in the layout space - is there specific steps I need to take please?

Add a viewport to a paper space block (experimental)
Hi Andrew,
This sounds interesting, at the moment I cannot acheive anything with this, how would you potentially see this working?

Re: Layout (paper space) Questions / Suggestions
What I am trying to achieve here is to create another working environment within the same file for the purpose of setting up different drawings / layouts for printing - instead of having to create a new file for this. Sometimes there can be a lot of drawings in modelspace!
Any suggestions?

Re: Layout (paper space) Questions / Suggestions
You can print blocks, yes. However, QCAD currently only stores one set of global printer settings (position, paper size, scale, etc). So changing your printer settings when printing one block would always affect the printing of all blocks, likely in an undesired way. All understood, it seems fine w...

Re: Layout (paper space) Questions / Suggestions
That shouldn't be the case (and isn't here). Can you attach your drawing file? Thanks. Seems fine now, thanks. So am I correct in thinking that if I add an empty block and set up a particular drawing in it - template, drawing with annotation etc I could work on it in exactly the same way as working...

Re: Layout (paper space) Questions / Suggestions
Still experimenting with this, when drawing in layout 1 or 2 it seems I am working in a 'block space' is this correct?

Layout (paper space) Questions / Suggestions
This kind of splits between two forum sections really as there are questions and suggestions, but I'll post here as it is probably more relevant. When looking in the block list there is provision for 'Layout 1' and 'Layout 2'. Please clarify why these are here - I understand that somehow they are fo...

Re: Rough Cut/Finish Cut
You can add a new tool, so in my example here I have T1 (6.35mm end mill) used for the round pocket hole and the first 'rough' profile cut and then T2 (1mm end mill) to fine tune the outside to get into the tight 1mm corners! All this is within one g-code program. Tool change for clean-up around per...
