Re: Qcad Theme Designer
Pete, Many thanks for this handy tool! I downloaded 2.5.6 from the links in your previous post, but FYI it still errors when Dark Blue is selected. There are no "Dark Blue" folder / icons in any of the zip files: [len@europa:160] ~/Downloads $ for each in *.zip; do unzip -l "$each" | grep do-not-del...

Re: QCAD Community Edition
The plugins directory is under your QCAD installation directory. I'm on Linux these days, but on Windows if I recall correctly it should be either "C:\Program Files\qcad<version>" (64 bit) or "C:\Program Files (x86)\qcad<version>" (32 bit). Make sure QCAD isn't running and delete, move or rename tho...

Has the QCAD forum changed?
There was an option on the Quick links menu to show only unread posts, but it's no longer there. In fact I had bookmarked that link: https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/search.php?search_id=unreadposts It was an easy way to quickly see what's new. Now when I go there, I get "The requested page could not be...

Re: Linux: QCAD Menu Disappeared
You're right about LTS - Ubuntu changed that policy. It was 3 years desktop and 5 years server, but now it's 5 years for both. But the bundled packages are a bit old. I moved from 16.04 to 18.04.02 last spring, which gave me some handy updates on several programs.

Re: Linux: QCAD Menu Disappeared
Just curious - Are you running any other QT(5)-based apps? Do they have the same issue? Or are your other apps based on other frameworks such as GTK, Motif, etc.? Also, FWIW, 16.04 is old and unsupported, but that's somewhat tangential to the question here. I've run QCAD under 16.04 and now 18.04 on...

Re: Just for fun - QCAD drawing challenge !!!
Yeah, after I thought about it a bit more, I realized the construction "circle" in my method was actually a 52-sided polygon, not a circle at all.

Re: Just for fun - QCAD drawing challenge !!!
So would this work... Imagine a larger construction circle centered on the big circle that runs through the center of each small circle. You can calculate its circumference (c = 52 * 6.35) and therefore its diameter (d = c / pi). Then reduce the diameter by 6.35 to make it coincide with the inside o...

Re: Linux QCAD Trial & Pro Occurrences and Warnings
Hopefully it'll be easy enough to untangle. If you run into problems, let us know and we can probably step through diagnosis and the fix via the forum.
Good luck.

Re: Linux QCAD Trial & Pro Occurrences and Warnings
I'm running QCAD on Xubuntu Linux (also with Xfce). It sounds like your problem is that your menu shortcut is pointing to the trial version instead of the pro version. That's why starting it from the menu launches the trail version. Fixing this is not overly complex, per se, but it may be a little s...

Re: Dark Theme in Ubuntu
No I've not tried that version. My pro upgrade entitlement expired in December and I've not upgraded since. However now that you mention it, I think I tried a newer snapshot late last year with the same results you're getting. So I went back to my version.

Re: Dark Theme in Ubuntu
For what it's worth, I recently inline-upgraded my Xubuntu 16.04 desktop to 18.04.2. I'm running the Greybird desktop theme and the Xfce 4.6 Default window manager theme, along with the QCAD dark theme. So far, so good as far as QCAD (3.21.3.0) is concerned: http://pages.suddenlink.net/lenphilpot/im...

Re: Why did this drawing suddenly bring QCAD to its knees?
That was it. I created the drawing from my standard template and that layer was originally for center lines, hence the dashed line. The actual scale of the drawing (which I was going to reduce once done) made it so large I didn't notice the linestyle. Changed it to Continuous and all is well. Excell...

Why did this drawing suddenly bring QCAD to its knees?
QCAD Pro 3.21.3.0 Xubuntu 18.04.2 Linux 64-bit I'm just a QCAD putzer and I was intrigued by Husky's twisted wire drawing (in another topic) so I decided to try it. I got as far as a drawing with eight splines and four straight lines, on two layers. Then suddenly QCAD bogged down to a crawl. While m...

Snapshot 3.21.3.14 download?
It was announced here: https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=16&p=22411#p22411 I went to the customer area and followed the snapshot download link, but there's nothing to download. Was it pulled? Figured I might as well get the absolute latest version before my entitlement expires on Christma...
