Re: insert a block
Hi GeoffBlyth - welcome to the QCAD forum.
The block should be visible at your mouse pointer. If not maybe your active layer is switched to invisible or frozen.

Re: Layer selection confusion
Is this normal expectation? I doubt that ..... e_surprised I then collapse "Layer 2" and then collapse "Layer1" - in that order: In my opinion this order leads to the fact that Layer1 is now the active Layer (last layer which was clicked on) and that is the reason why the new entity is placed on La...

Re: Can circles round points be removed
Please check the settings for "Point Display". It looks like you set it to Mode 32 instead of Mode 0.

Re: Problem with relative zero
Would you please explain what this importance is? I have no idea about this. The relative zero point (red circle with a cross) visualizes the position of the relative zero point of your drawing. When entering relative coordinates or using the restriction tool etc. it will relate to the current posi...

Re: Problem with relative zero
Is that clearer? Yes - thanks for the additional exploration. Because it gets in the way of small detail in a drawing. I can't imagine how that is possible - but I don't know what kind of drawings you are working on. Suggestion: Relative Zero is pretty important in a drawing to use. To lock Relativ...

Re: Dynamic entries to length edit box
Hello jhbrasdor - welcome to the QCAD Forum, Here’s how it could work. Right click on the Length edit box to evoke the context popup menu. The first menu option could be something like ‘Point-to-Point’. Select this menu option then select two points on the drawing (with default snap options). The di...

Re: Problem with relative zero
I lock it, but it moves again after the next drawing function. That behavior describes exactly the "Set Relative Zero (RZ)" tool but not the "Lock Relative Zero (RL) tool. Maybe you can post step by step what you are doing in the drawing what shows that behavior. BTW: Why do you need to lock Relati...

Re: Problem with relative zero
Sorry, my bad. That are QCAD shortcuts.
RL = Lock Relative Zero
SQ = Lock Snap (I assume this one is not part of the Community Edition ...)
RL = Lock Relative Zero

It shouldn't make a difference in this case ...

Sorry, can't reproduce that on Win10. Did you lock with RL or accidentally with SQ?

Detection is not on my version. I have QCAD Community Edition ver 3.21.3.0 (3.21.3). In that case please post your questions in the Community Section. It makes it less confusing .... :wink: http://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewforum.php?f=76 Do I need to purchase? If you don't need the Pro functions the...
