Re: Side/Dir. "On" function
Like I said, that file in question when I ran the simulator it didn't show any issues, but when I ran it on the CNC Router/Mach 3 it was different. I will later on make a run with that file on my system and see f it will do it again. Also in that photo if you notice on the circular plate, there is a...

Re: Side/Dir. "On" function
I should mention, in the simulation it showed like it was suppose to, but when I did the actual piece it cut 5mm outside the line. I don't have the original DXF file it got over written. But this file was saved just afterwards.

Poly-line path
Wen I have a poly-line and I create a shape I then set a path. My question is can I have to separate paths for the same poly-lines shape? Let say one would be set for "On' and the the other set for "Outside" ? The reasoning would to shape the edge of something on the first path and the second path m...

Side/Dir. "On" function
I was doing a wooden face plate for an AC socket. The edge I wanted a concave radius on it. I used a 1/2" radius router bit, so I creates a rectangle slightly larger than then outside of the plate. In profile Is set the tool size as 6.35 and in Side/Dir. box I set the side for "On" figuring it would...

Z Safety Level Defult
In the Cam configuration window, there is a Z Safety Level setting, mine defaults at 50. My Chinese CNC Router doesn't have that much stroke and tops out and messes up my zero setting for Z. I manually set it at 10, but sometimes I forget to set the Cam Configuration, and it goes to 50, and I have t...

[solved] Lost in space!
Andrew! is there a simpler way to find errors when trying to connect line. I will try and be clear. When I am creating , I guess it is a trapezoid with rounded corners. Not sure if this is the correct way, but I make circles and over lap the edges of the circle and the trapezoid. I then divide and s...

It's been a while, and have had no issues since I hooked up the ground/earth wires to the router/ controller/computer.
Thanks for all your help!!

4th Axis
My machine is capable of forth axis, and I was thinking of playing around with it. But I want to get my ducks in a row before starting on it. Will QCad/Cam ever go 3D, If I were to take a 3D dxf file from another program, can QCad/Cam read it and create G-code for it.

Don't quote me on this, but maybe the Gremlins may be gone! Still a little nervous when I am playing with it!

Re: Horizontal Groove/slot
I would like to find more cutters in that style, maybe a little larger diameter with a 1/8" to 1/4" shank other than the Dremel tool. I know they are out there, I just can't find them. We had some at work, don't know what they used them for or where they got them. I am retired, so I called one of th...

Re: Horizontal Groove/slot
I used the 3 axis! I used a Dremel tool bit, shown in the pic. Yes I did an extra circle for the groove.

Re: Generated G-code Issue/ Mach3
Well had a mishap, before I put ground leads on everything. Was doing a box top and after it finished a cut, it moved to the next location. It was supposed to just go about a half a millimeter but kept going down in to the router table. So I put ground wires on the router and controller box and made...
