Re: SIMPLIFY LAY OUT OF ICONS
Hi, It is possible to alter default Toolbars. Or one can group some frequently used tools in two custom Toolbars with QCAD Pro. Displaying certain Toolbars is configurable. For visibility in default Toolbars or the custom Toolbars see: Menu Edit .. Application Preferences .. General .. Tool Settings...

Re: Suggestion: Add cycles/turns to the available units for angular dimensions.
I don't think that I needed to explain anything to Husky ... I gave examples of all supported input methods for angles. All result in an 123.45 degrees angle. Remark here that I consider values in degrees to be functional or almost correct when there are at least 8 decimal digits. 6 digits for radia...

Re: Bug (-: on Linux only, once again ?)
Additionally I looked up your previous post on such errors (... again...): dummy_display.dxf of post: https://www.qcad.org/rsforum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=6469&p=24305#p24299 Start point of that line is (-0.00000012121716964, 13.00000000000008704) End point is (0.00000012121697068, 7.00000000000011458)...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
94 DPI divided by 20 ... I said that 1/20" was a bad example, don't mix that with the newer example. Still, if I want to solder pads each 1/30" wide and 1/60" apart, several dozen on a row, it will be a big mess. (1/30+1/60=1/20) You mention that the default minimum Grid spacing of 10 pixels by QCA...

Re: Line tool option box does not open
So when I can't see the options toolbar on the screen, can I otherwise investigate if it is hidden somewhere? This question continued to intrigue me ... With scripting almost anything is possible. var optionsToolBar = EAction.getOptionsToolBar(); var position = optionsToolBar.pos; EAction.handleUse...

TomK,
Also remark that a single Pro or CAM licence is personal. Only intended to be used by you.
I know, nobody is controlling this, it is as if per gentleman's agreement, it is you that agreed with the terms.

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
I do 0.05" parts all the time. Piece of cake! Ok, bad example ... 20.5 inch wide monitor ... 1920px ... About 94 dpi ... About 1/47" per 2 pixels or 1/31" per 3 pixels. You need less than half of that to diversify what grid point you are pointing to. For the metric guys ... About 0.27 - 0.41mm poin...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
In all the 2D CAD programs that I have used, QCAD seems to have the most problems with the grid. I think it is the other way around ... In QCAD the Grid is intended to be more versatile, far more versatile ... But there is a flaw. The advice in your case is to use a fixed Grid that is not sca...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
You said, "Remark that Auto scaling a Grid is Application wide." I did not find it there. Where exactly is that? Already provided in the debate about Grid/Meta Grid ... See: Applications Preferences .. Graphics View .. Grid But I do use what is called the GRID in QCAD all the time. You didn't quote...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
You said, ".. I already remarked that Grid settings based on values other than 1e10^n have an Issue." That's interesting. Basically you are saying that grids that can not be represented in scientific notation where the mantissa can only be 1 and the exponent must be an integrer value, are problemat...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
OK, then WHERE did those settings come from? From the data stored in the file ... From nowhere else. Close all drawings in QCAD. Exit QCAD. Click on the given example file Batt3+Hor-500.dxf here in this forum topic. Your Browser will download it and probably start QCAD to open it or you need to dou...

Re: Bug (-: on Linux only, once again ?)
SerPat: Your differences are by design ... It is not QCAD that has introduced the 0.0012.... offsets. I think that you need to be more precise when designing these drawings. Many things don't line up. Exploit the most suited snapping tools. Even the Grid would already be suitable given that the requ...

Re: Blocks, Library, Edit Block, Edit Block In Place
Batt3+Hor-500.dxf >> Grid = 0.05 ; Meta = 1 VPlus.dxf >> Grid = 1 ; Meta = 10 The actual used Grid/Meta Grid is stored in the drawing, in the drawing file. Activate the drawing in the GUI and have a look at the Drawing Preferences. The Grid/Meta Grid settings in Application Preferences are used to ...

Re: Line tool option box does not open
Claus N,
I see a vertical Toolbar placed just left outside the drawing panel, The Modify Toolbar.
At the bottom we see 2 arrows pointing down.
Meaning that there is more to see down there.
One could temporary disable showing the Modify Toolbar to see what shifts up.

CVH
